A clasificación real
A contabilidade baseada no consumo atribúe as emisións incorporadas en todo o que unha familia consome, incluídos os importados. Esa é a forma honesta de contar, e produce unha clasificación que o asesoramento ao consumidor inverte en gran medida.

A fila de calefacción é onde as familias europeas teñen a maior oportunidade única, e os aforros de emisións das bombas de calor teñen a súa propia literatura [4]. Tamén é a máis intensiva en capital, que é a razón pola que está subrepresentada nos consellos dirixidos a individuos.

Funcionan os calculadores de carbono?
Os calculadores foron avaliados formalmente [1], e o resumo honesto é que son instrumentos educativos en lugar de contables. Dois calculadores que reciben entradas idénticas difiren substancialmente de forma rutinaria, porque fan diferentes supostos sobre a intensidade da rede, as emisións incorporadas, a asignación e os límites do sistema.
Isto non os fai inútiles. Ver que un único voo supera un ano de reciclado diligente é unha actualización xenuína e útil, e é unha que case ninguén chega sen axuda. Usa a ordenación, non os díxitos.
Cambio de comportamento e os seus límites
As intervencións de comportamento proambiental foron estudadas extensivamente. Os achados reflicten o cambio de comportamento en todas partes: a información por si soa cambia pouco, os predeterminados e o cambio estrutural funcionan mellor que a exhortación, e os efectos decrecen sen reforzo — o mesmo patrón que o noso sitio de perda de peso informa para un dominio completamente diferente.
