El ranking real

La contabilidad basada en el consumo atribuye las emisiones incorporadas en todo lo que un hogar consume, incluidas las importaciones. Esa es la forma honesta de contar, y produce un ranking que el asesoramiento al consumidor invierte en gran medida.

La fila de calefacción es donde los hogares europeos tienen la mayor oportunidad única, y los ahorros de emisiones de bombas de calor tienen su propia literatura [4]. También es la más intensiva en capital, por lo que está subrepresentada en el asesoramiento dirigido a individuos.

¿Funcionan los calculadores de carbono?

Los calculadores han sido evaluados formalmente [1], y el resumen honesto es que son educativos más que instrumentos de contabilidad. Dos calculadores que reciben entradas idénticas difieren rutinariamente de manera sustancial, porque hacen diferentes suposiciones sobre la intensidad de la red, las emisiones incorporadas, la asignación y los límites del sistema.

Los hallazgos reflejan el cambio de comportamiento en todas partes: la información por sí sola cambia poco, los predeterminados y el cambio estructural funcionan mejor que la exhortación, y los efectos decaen sin refuerzo — el mismo patrón que nuestro sitio de pérdida de peso informa para un dominio completamente diferente.
